so, here i am, posting the images from the last day of diraj and tas’s wedding. to be honest, i’m kinda sad… after about a year of planning for this wedding (both personally and with regular meetings with tas), several days of shooting and then weeks of editing, it’s sort of sad that it’s all over. however, i look forward to staying in touch with them and hearing about their continuing life together. tas is one of those people that you can think you have figured out, but she’ll keep surprising you (in very very good ways), and you really do just want to get to know her better. diraj is the same… i didn’t talk to him too much during this time of planning, but by the end of it, i was wishing i had. anyways, i know this is about them and not me, so i’ll stop complaining about how i’ll miss them, and move on to the photos…
tas’s gorgeous melissa sweet dress. wow. this was honestly one of (if not THE) most beautiful dress i’ve ever seen. the detailing in it was so intricate and lovely and unique — much like tas herself.
getting ready at the hotel vancouver…
ok, i know that tas’s face is out of focus here, but the expression on her face was sooo cute, i just had to post it anyways. even though they were technically married the day before, tas was most “like a bride” this day, and was so nervous and sweet before seeing diraj. so that’s why i love her expression so much here.
i love this shot of diraj. he’s not a big fan of being photographed, but by this point, was a total natural in front of the camera.
)
so, we headed up to coal harbour for some shots and were serenaded by this ukulele player. i don’t remember his song, but even if i did remember any of the lyrics, i wouldn’t post them here, in case my grandmother ever comes across this post.
a champagne toast at chill winston. this weekend had a lot of champagne.
they had the coolest bridal party ever. honestly, these girls are so hardcore about being photographed, they were such a dream. i’ve never heard of anyone loving photos as much as this group of girls… and i’m a photographer. so. yeah.
i wanted to post this shot of yasmin and tas, because yasmin spent so much time each day doing tas’s hair and makeup and was honestly just so sweet to be around the whole time. she was always available to help everyone, and just a really great friend. tas has a lot of those.
david blair and dave mcleod kept everyone entertained for the beginning of the reception at the vancouver art gallery…
diraj was a super good sport about his groomsmen’s speeches…
i just love this shot of the first dance by my second shooter, amber hughes…
ali milner sang for their first dance, and was absolutely wonderful…
tas and diraj, thank you again for letting me be a part of your wedding and your lives… i look forward to getting to know you more in the future, and wish you all the best in everything! i know you’re having a blast in jamaica, and look forward to seeing your pictures from your honeymoon on facebook!
you can also see the slideshow of all three days here.

[...] When Kristel Wyman asked me to help out on day 3 of Tas and Diraj’s multi day wedding extravaganza, I didn’t even hesitate in saying “yes!!!!”. Kristel had been talking about them for months and I just knew this wedding was going to be special…. I was not dissappointed! Day 3 was mostly for portraits with a lovely reception at the Art Gallery to cap it off… it was a wonderfully relaxed and intimate day!
